A touch of silk infused into classic chambray creates a perfect balance of refined and rugged. This is the new Silk Chambray shirt.
When you think of the most iconic workwear shirting fabric, chambray is the clear star. With its utilitarian roots, grainy texture and classic indigo on white composition, it's a fabric we've run in many version, weights and colors. Today we have a refreshing refinement of the style. That refinement comes in the form of a truly rare ingredient addition - silk. You instantly feel it in these style. There is a smoothness and a soft touch. It enhances both the feel and fit of these shirts. The rest of the package is pure classic chambray. Indigo dye, white weft and nice tight grain. This is the best of both worlds in an iconic workwear style.
The short sleeve button up occupies a unique spot in our warm weather attire. It has a nice balance of formality from the button up shape with the sheer comfort of short sleeves. It's the type of shirt you can wear comfortably with shorts, a faded pair of raw denim or a clean pair of khakis. The look feels right. Ours is clean and properly constructed from a perfect collar, to a bottom hem that can be worn untucked, to nicely fitted sleeves.
Our short sleeve button-up fits just like the long sleeve. It shares the same beautifully tailored body, not too slim, but definitely fitted. High armholes keep the body lines clean. A very gently scooped bottom hem that works wonderfully un-tucked or tucked. A no-button collar that’s perfectly sized to sit well. We removed the back pleat and locker loop, adding to the minimalist and casual nature of this style.
We labor over every construction detail. Extensive single needle stitching is used throughout. All our closures are made from true mother of pearl. The front placket is also pleated, made the right way, using a true two piece construction. The feel is more substantial and the effort higher, but it's the right way. An angular chest pocket completes the front.
Button-up shirts that are made in the USA using our quality of material and construction are typically priced at $175 to $300. The Gustin model, with your support, lets us do much better.
