Meet the Gustin Classic Boot. Inspired by traditional work boots, they’re built from the finest materials in the world and hand-made in America. Gustin boots are built to last, with styling that’s right for any occasion.
These Gustin Classic boots are made from Chromexcel leather from the Horween Leather Company in Chicago. They are the number one choice for the world’s finest shoemakers, and when you see and touch their leather, you instantly know why Horween has become the gold standard. The shade is a rich chocolatey brown. It's elegant enough to be easily dressed up, while still retaining an element of ruggedness. The character this leather develops over time is really what makes Horween stand out. The leather takes on an incredible patina. You can see subtle highs and lows as the oils in the leather surface breaks in. It’s leather that’s beautiful on day one and gets even better with time.
Timelessness defines the aesthetic of our boot. The Classic boot looks right today and will look right in 20 years. We designed our own last to get the specific fit and look we wanted. Overall, the fit is very neutral and accessible. The toe box profile is just a touch lower than a a work boot, giving ours a more refined character. Beauty is in the elegant tonal stitching, the narrow leather backstay, and the way the tan calfskin lining peaks out. Our boot is devoid of extraneous adornment just like the classics.
Our boots are constructed by hand in the USA by a group of craftsmen who have been making footwear for over 50 years. They have perfected their craft and the industry's biggest and best names, including Wolverine, Frye and Red Wing, use them for production. We are proud to say that our boots are made using Goodyear welt construction. Goodyear welting is a time consuming and expensive process utilized only by the most respected shoemakers in the world. It is highly regarded for reasons including being relatively waterproof, the ease in replacing the sole and its durability. We use a 270 degree welt and individually nail the rubber Vibram heel to each boot. The midsole, the part between your foot and the heel, is made of multiple layers of outsole leather. It’s polished and offers up an elegant look normally reserved for dress shoes. The tan leather outsole is attached with contrasting white stitching and embossed with the Gustin logo. All leather for the upper is die cut one hide at a time and assembled with single needle stitching. Leather reinforcement is sewn around the ankle collar and eyerow for added support and protection. Custom lasting creates the unique low profile Gustin shape. Our boots have a thick cork bed and super soft calfskin layered insole. Finishing touches include brown metal eyelets and speed hooks. The waxed brown laces are the perfect width so that they easily pass through the speed hooks, yet wide enough so that they will last.
Boots made in America to our quality level carry incredibly high price points. The Gustin model allows us to offer you a radically better value.
Gustin boots run true to size. If you typically wear a US 9 or EU 42 or measure 9 on a Brannock device, we recommend ordering a US 9. All boots are standard D width.
