Gustin jeans made from sanforized raw selvedge denim from one of the finest mills in Japan. When we search for a perfect Japanese selvedge, we look for a few key things: solid weight, dark indigo start and the potential to wear to the perfect medium blue with great texture. We saw everything we liked in the Okayama Standard. This style is a very solid 14.5oz, starts out raw in a deep blue indigo and wears to the mythical medium blue we all want. The fade shots tell the story. The color is stunning, the grain amazing. It even has a great vertical grain when worn in. Throw in a very cool double stitch orange selvedge ID and this is a perfect, traditional Japanese denim. Made in the Okayama Prefecture, this one is perfect all around denim. You will receive a new pair of raw denim, not worn-in or distressed.

This is the same style and quality that was sold in boutiques all over the country for much higher.

"I am very pleased with the 32 Slim sizing. Out the gate the waist was comfortable with no belt needed. After a week of wear I can feel the waist is relaxing, still don’t need a belt. The denim feels more premium than other designer selvedge I have purchased in the past. Previously I have the Rainbow nep selvedge in 31 slim and after a few washes they have shrunk and they are a little tight front rise and waist. I’m confident that the size 32 will hold up to shrinkage over time and still fit me."

"Picked up the 37 waist - as I was imagining these would run a bit slim. I’m an athletic guy, and these fit just about perfectly for my taste. Thigh has enough room so that I don’t feel suffocated, and waist is snug - but comfortable. The length is a bit long, but I like rolling up the cuff, so no biggie. "This is my second Gustin pair after the 1968. It took me all of one minute of breaking in that first pair using Sally O'Malley kicks and stretches to decide I wanted another one, and the Okayama was a logical choice. It arrived just in time for my Christmas trip to Chicago, and all I could think of was all the honeycombing that 8+ hours of sitting in Economy Class would bring. I'm really happy with it -- the fabric is beautiful and the piece is just so well crafted overall. I could be happier, though -- just a couple of minor quality situations on the left leg. 1) About 1" of stitching on the outseam failed and was coming undone, which led me to notice that 2) from the knee down, the leg was about 3/16" tighter than the right. I let Customer Service know about issue #1 and was taken care of right away with a reimbursement for repair. Issue #2 is more of an observation than a problem. Still giving it 5 stars."
