The Horween Tote is intended to be the perfect unisex bag. Clean and functional. You can use it as a work bag with your laptop, a bag for a farmers market run or a weekend getaway bag. The main body is open for ample storage. The veg tan horsehide straps are designed to be just the right length so they can work in your hand or over your shoulder. There's a single pocket on the inside made from Dublin leather which is secured along with the straps by hand-pounded industrial copper rivets.

Starting with the absolute best material is the way we approach all our products and the tote is no exception. For leather, that means Horween. We use their product a lot, but we wanted to find something extra special this time. We found it in the company’s Dublin line. Dublin leather is the result of an experiment where Horween asked themselves, “What if we take a top quality cowhide and tan it with the same liquor we use to tan Shell Cordovan?" The result is a beautiful, durable leather that has particularly rich coloring. For this tote we selected the Chestnut color. It’s an orange-brown shade that has tremendous highs and lows. It ages beautifully as the oils in the leather get rubbed and displaced resulting in slightly lighter patches to give this tote some visual complexity. It’s truly a thing of beauty. For the straps, we're using Horween's veg tan horseshide leather which starts out light and darkens to a golden brown as you use it and serves a great color contrast to the Horween body.

Please note that this leather has a very high wax content. This can cause variations in the leather that are part of its appeal, but can cause each bag to differ from one another. The whitish waxy look is what we call “bloom”. What is happening is that the wax starts to come to the surface causing a cloudy/hazy look. You can very easily wipe this off or brush it to a very nice shine with a horsehair brush.
