Camp Hat - Wool Tweed

We start with all the right details - a leather adjustment strap with sold metal closure, a cotton sweatband for comfort and a timeless 5 panel camp shape. The tweed dates back to 1800s Scotland where it was used as a true working fabric. It was built to be tough to withstand harsh conditions. This version from Japan faithfully captures this rough spirit while wrapping it in a beautiful package. The base is a blend of wool and cotton, but no attempt is made to hide the wool's fibrous, almost burlap feel. You know this is not your basic shirting fabric the moment you touch it. The texture is noticeable and old-school. The plain weave is a great showcase for the multi-colored yarn that is used to create an organic, heather-like effect. Brick surrounds a brown khaki color with a hint of plums and mustards.
